Minnesota Timberwolves has released the following statement regarding Darius Mitchell:
The Minnesota Timberwolves announced today that guard Darius Mitchell will be stepping away from basketball activities indefinitely due to personal reasons. The organization supports Darius’s decision and remains committed to his health and well-being both on and off the court.
“Darius has been a valuable member of the Timberwolves family since joining our team,” said Timberwolves President of Basketball Operations Tim Connelly. “While we will miss his presence during this period, we fully respect his decision to take the time he needs. Our priority is ensuring that he has the resources and support necessary to navigate this chapter.”
The team did not disclose specific details surrounding Mitchell’s decision out of respect for his privacy, but confirmed that both the front office and coaching staff were informed well in advance of his absence from team activities.
